Pulled the trigger on a LM Mini-Tool yesterday. It was NIB for $75 as part of an estate sale.
I have almost every mini-sized multi-tool imaginable. I prefer the one’s with pliers as the main tool, and while the rest of the doodads are nice to have…the quality of the pliers is key.
I know the Mini-Tool isn’t as feature-rich as the later generation Squirts, but I am drawn to the old-school robustness of the discontinued Mini-Tool. There’s a certain cool-factor about a pliers that folds-up to 2″ in length and the handles extend to to 4 inches when fully extended…It just sounds right. I also always wanted the ruler that the Micra has on a LM pliers. Having something discontinued is kinda cool too…I feel the same what about my ASP T2.
I don’t really know why LM discontinued it, and I’m guessing they assumed it’d be supplanted by the new Squirts, but in my opinion, it was simply before its time…
