KeymasterHi guys, I need your advice on BlackBerry. I’m changing my phone- goodbye android- and after some research I’ve two options. One is BlackBerry with OS7 or some Windows Phone preferably Lumia.
The problem with BlackBerry is that, from what I read it needs BIS/BES for proper functioning. I read comments and forum threads like don’t buy BlackBerry without BIS, BB is just a simple phone without BIS, it’s useless without BIS, you can only call and send text messages without bis. Or like: it is possible to use /”smartphone” (e-mail, web browsing) without BIS but only via WiFi, or you need these 5 ot then apps each to do something else that you get with BIS. I also read that some blackberries (unlike OS10) support/don’t support BIS?
So as you can imagine it seems unreasonable to buy first BB after reading something like that. But on the other side, BlackBerry has all I need: probably good contacts manager, calls quality, battery life, physical qwerty keyboard and decent camera. I check my email two or three times a day on phone by refreshing my inbox. And usually check some news during commute on my phone. I also use bbm for android. That’s all I need.
You may ask, so why won’t you buy BIS? Problem is, that only two carriers offer it for individual customers in Poland. And it’s not my carrier of choice. And definitely not worth to choose them for bis.
So question to you-people having realistic view on all kind of devices and their usability- shoul I buy BlackBerry? Can I use it (older models like BB9720, 9360) without BIS only with standard data transfer? Or difficulties will cover everything that’s so good in BlackBerry?PS I asked same question on local BlackBerry forum but it was read by 100 users and left without any answer. So any comment is welcomed.
