Last December I was duck hunting and using my semi auto instead of my over and under,.. and Berettas unload differently than most semi’s in the process of cold fingers and clearing the gun for the trip back the action closed on my left middle fingertip,.. the extractor opening up a nice gash along the entire tip,..
ok,.. case the gun and dig through the blind bag for bandages,.. Lesson learned,..(cigar tin full of bandages were put in when I got home) cleaning patches used with direct pressure as it is now bleeding pretty good… I have a FAK in the truck.. boat ride then ATV back to truck break open FAK clean and neosporine open bandaid….
band aid doesn’t stick ….. WTH ? these are newish and have used them that past summer,.. ok grab tape and gauze wrap and we are all set….
get home and bring FAK and gear inside to reset for next trip,.. later when all was warmed up to room temperature tried a bandaid,.. it worked fine..now the FAK goes with the blind bag,..no use in a truck 20 mins away…
Question : are there band-aids that work better after being in near 0 degree weather or should I just go to Gauze and tape for the future trips ?
