So, I have a redundancy in my duty boots. Actually, I don’t use either but feel it necessary to have something available (normally I like a mid-height uninsulated waterproof leather duty boot).
If you were to select the overall “better” boot – Lifespan, durability, waterproofness, etc, which of the following two would be your choice?
Danner Strike II GTX 10inch for “cool climates” with 400grams thinsulate
Mil-spec MIL-B-44426A ICWB Boots which are 10 inch full leather with gore-tex and 12.4oz/yrd thinsulate as well as a more aggresive outsole.
Primary purpose, as mentioned above would be to use as fire/ems duty boot but they won’t see much use. Maybe a couple days a year when we are expecting or just received a notable blizzard. Otherwise they would just be in storage for SHFT/emergency use.
