I use to be so on top of this kind of stuff, but I guess thats how things sometimes go.

I need a tablet (or light notebook) that meets the following requirements.

1. It has to be able to be charged via USB (like an iPad)
2. I need to be able to run Windows-based programs such as chirp. No iOS or Android.
3. It must have a USB connection for Baofeng program cable and GlobalStat GPS receiver.
4. Good battery life
5. At least as durable as an iPad and has protection covers available.

I don’t need it to be supper fast. This will not be for gaming. Just GPS mapping, radio programming, messaging and reading books\manuals. As with most, I am also looking for affordability (no top-end Surface)
