I am older and have arthritis in my hands. It hurts to shoot the heavier calibers such as 45s, as the recoil drives the frame back into the space between my thumb and forefinger for one thing. Also I am losing some of the dexterity I need to operate smaller levers, etc. So I think it is time to hang up the 1911 and look for a lighter recoil, easier to operate pistol. I would even consider a 22 at this point as it would be better than nothing. Does anyone have any thoughts for shooters with arthritis?
Thanks, Ed.
