I love my fountains and have several, my current favorite being my Kaweko Sport filled with J.Herbin Eclat De Saphir blue ink. That being said I also have several rollerballs and ballpoints with me at all times too. At work I write in my journal with a fountain but I also have lots of paperwork that is 2 or 3 ply carbon layered and a fountain is useless for that. Yesterday I picked up a Retro1951 Tornado Stealth, my first “nice” rollerball pen. It takes the standard Parker refills so finding refills is no problem. I have a few Parker Jotters, a Monteverde One Touch, and a supply room full of Pilot V5 Hi-Tecpoints and Pilot P-500’s, but I find that anything more then a few minutes writing and my hand starts to tighten up. I have big hands and thin pens don’t do it for me over time and the Tornado has a nice big body.
What do you use/prefer and why?
