I have two different versions of Field Notes so far. I have a Black dot grid. Paper weight is 75.2 grams. Then I have another variety which does not bleed through as much, it also says 75.2 grams. The Shenandoah is their latest version, and it also shows 75.2 grams. How are we supposed to know which will take fountain pen, and which will bleed through? I have been trying out various notebooks. I am definitely going to try a Clairefontaine out. But I do like the Field Notes too. I actually like it better than Moleskine. Except I like the Moleskine cover a little more. The Rhodia does not have a pocket notebook in this size. I am happy with their paper though. But the Field Notes brand is very confusing to me. I thought 80 and above would be a good weight for fountain pens. They would probably sell more, if fountain pen people could use them and not worry about bleed through. I wish they would put FP friendly or something on their new editions so we wouldn’t waste our money buying something not up to the task. I prefer a paper to use any pen or pencil I have on hand. I don’t want to be switching books, because one is better for the instrument I am using at the moment. I want to buy Field Notes because I prefer USA made if possible.
