I’ve recently offloaded alot of th FAK type gear as well as corner case gear (Poncho, Extra socks, Shemagh, and other stuff) to a Falcon II which I brought second hand on another forum. As much as I like the idea of a slingpack; the reality of carrying one over a long haul has left much to be desired… The discomfort of having to lug the Malaga 10 miles in moderately rough country over the course of several hours is what prompted the purchase of the Falon II.
After having transitioned most of the junk out of the Malaga, I still wanted to do something constructive with the bag. It was certainly alot lighter now…
Cue this weekend, my sons rowing regatta. A few wrenches, a small parts kit of washers, nuts, and bolts, tie wraps, gorilla tape, tube of marine poxy, some Cliff bars and other stuff and this thing made a perfect riggers bag!
