KeymasterHey all, currently I’m sporting a 4Seven Mini AA flashlight that I really enjoy using. I am however trying to get a new position at work, and if I do I’ll be using a light a bunch more to inspect machines after sanitation. I’d like to get a new 1AA light with a clicky to make one handed use a bit easier.
I’ve been looking hard at the 4Seven Quark AA, the Thrunite Neutron, and the Zebralight SC52. I get the UI is a bit different, and they all have different lumens. What I’m really concerned with is the following though.
Reliability – I don’t want a light that might fail me easily
Moonlight Mode- I think these are super useful, and I use them often
Tail Standable – just a nice feature
A good high mode – Conversely to moonlight mode, sometimes I just want a lot of light.Right now I’ve been looking really hard at the Quark, I already like the 4seven light I have, and it seems to have a good track record, though it is the least bright of the three. I also like that it comes with a pouch. I was really digging hard on the Zebralight, but everytime I almost convince my self, I hear things about poor customer service, and arguments about its reliability. The Thunite really caught my eye, but I heard that it turns on in pocket a lot, and that pretty much took it off the list. Are there others I should be looking at? I’m really just looking for a sounding board of your thoughts. This is a light I’ll use for everything (EDC, work, Camping etc.) and I want to make sure I pick a good reliable (and coolÂ
) one.
