Keymasteralright so a couple of days ago i posted a tread about helping me decide whether i should get a rebar or supertool 300, and today i was thinking about which tools i use and which tools i don’t use.
i saw a leatherman kick in the store and thought well that’s just the basics but i really don’t know what to get now that i have multiple options.
i really like my original supertool and i thought about the replacable wire cutters on the st300 and the rebar, but then i have the original supertool for a long time and i never stripped the cutters on that so it’s not really more usefull to me then regular cutters on any other leatherman.
i still have to decide which leatherman i want to get so i thought i ask you guys your opinion and tell you what i’m using the tool for, maybe you can give me some advice becuase i can’t decide which tool to get.i’ll be using my leatherman for
– bicycle rides ( i do carry a wrench set in my backpack when i drive my bike )– edc ( i don’t really care about the weight of the tool becuase it’s gonna be on my belt or in my pocket )
– fishing
– at my work ( i use it for the most stuff i mainly use a screwdriver and the pliers i do like the 3D screwdriver that’s on for example the rebar becuase it’s better then the flat leatherman bits )
– stuff around the house
i mainly use screwdrivers and pliers i have a pair of folding scissors in my pocket for edc so i don’t need scissors on my multitool.
a serrated blade isn’t really needed but would be used if it’s on the tool.
i never used the file on my supertool and i don’t think i’ll ever need it.
i use a can opener some times when i’m out fishing to open cans of food.
knife doesn’t have to be on the outside becuase i carry a folder on me all the time, and i like the old style leatherman better with the tools on the inside.
a saw would be used if included bu i also have a SAK camper with a saw in it so it’s not really needed. -
