I love my fenix E11 2013 version. 2 modes 115 and 30’ish lumens. switch to high by turning the head tight. else medium. tail-click with momentary on. no mode-switching when you press the button. just on/off.

I would buy another one as a backup any time, but is there something with a similar UI that is that simple and probably a little better?

I’d really like a solid clip. the lanyard on my e11 broke pretty soon.

and a ca. 3-5 lumen low mode if head is loosened more would be nice. the E12 is not for me though, cause it ditched the momentary on and I dont like to toggle modes and blind myself until I get eventually to low.

something with memory would do as well. but I like the simplicity of tightening the head for preselecting my brighntess before turning on.

I’d love something that uses this pattern: tighten head to select the brightness from zero to full. tailclick for on with preselected mode. double click for max brightness.

is there anything like this? should run on AA rechargeables if possible.
