I’m new here, this seems like the right place to post this? If not, I’m sorry, feel free to move it.
Ok, so long story short. I carry a few tools in my Work/EDC/GHB. Among those tools are a 6″ adjustable wrench and 6″ slip joint pliers.
I’m ready to upgrade.
I’m getting the Knipex 150 Pliers Wrench. That’s a given, and that takes care of the adjustable wrench.
Now the slip joints. I have liked the slip joints, ok. I have missed a good set of wire cutters, occasionally. I really don’t want to increase the number of tools I carry, and 6-1/4″ is about the nominal maximum length for my 6-1/2″ tool pouches.
Now the questions:
-Should I keep it simple and just get the Knipex 160 Combination Pliers. I rarely if ever need needle nose, and these are pretty versatile. Plus I avoid falling into the trap of carrying to much crap.
-Or, get the Knipex 150 Cobra Pliers and the 160 Chain Nose Pliers. This is one more tool than I want, but I can make it fit. I really like the idea of the Cobra, but money IS an object.
Any thoughts, experience? These are the only tools and sizes I’m considering.
Thanks!
