KeymasterThey all seem to have about the same problem of not being well strain relieved at the connector.
Lately, I’ve been buying the $8 dynex ones from Best Buy and have had good luck with them. Especially given that they all seem to get abused by everyone in the house and last just as long as the $20 Apple model.
They’re also different colors, so you can identify them if one starts acting screwy or if one is supposed to be in a specific place.

KeymasterI just got a couple of the 3ft ones, that were the same as the ones that shipped with the Anker powercore. They are pretty thin but appear to be good quality. Note that Anker produces a plus version of their cables including braided version.
A group test of such cables I read rated the Anker cables highly, but was unable to differentiate one competent cable from a well built cheapie. The differences were in the expected life. Unless they are emergency use cables I can’t imagine it is worth having one high price one instead of five competent ones.

KeymasterI’ve been looking as well. The only thing I’m worried about are the horror stories of fires or excessive heat on either end of the cable causing burning of phone or outlet.
I want a short 1′ or less for travel and my motorcycle. I hate to pay Apple prices just because it’s Apple, and they keep failing by the phone end after using for many months.
I have a Nomad Keychain charger which I love, but buying a second is further out of my mind as their prices keep going up.

KeymasterI bought two 6 foot Anker over a year ago for use in hotels, outlets in hotels are never conveniently assessable. No issues with the cables. Bought a 3 ft version to use with my Anker powercore when backpacking, it has seen some major abuse with no issues.

KeymasterI stick with Apple cables on this. Best Buy do sell them as of course so do the Apple Store.
