I’m really loving this caliber; I rent one about every time I go to keep my skills up (and .40 for IPSC, but I digress). The caliber makes my 9 feel like a .22. (But I still love shooting the 9!)

Here’s what I like (yeah, I dissed you 1911 lovers before, but I like ’em too):

-Kimber custom (which one?)
-Colt (for history’s sake; are they really worth 10 Benjamins?)
-Glock 21 (yeah, sorry 1911 diehards; I still love Glocks; big fat grip doesn’t seem to affect my accuracy)
-Sig?
-Other full-metal?

I’ve yet to shoot other 1911s, but aren’t they pretty much the same? I’d swap out the iron sights though; feels like I’m aiming with bricks! I _might_ try to compete in Production with this caliber; though I might be, um, outgunned with the more experienced 50+ year olds .

Criteria:
-build. quality.
-overall accuracy (seems about the same; are some more notorious for being worse?)
-swap out sights (iron? you old-school guys are nuts.)
-other things I haven’t considered, folks?
