Hey everyone. I’m stuck between s .38 special and a .22 revolver. I know most will say .38 because of the power, but when I leave this state (Mass) and get my LTC, I will just be out of college and just married. Money will be tight.

I figured that it’ll be beneficial to get a .22 revolver for a few years until I get a solid job and am financially set. My reasoning is because of the fact that I’ll be able to afford to shoot a .22 much mo often than a .38sp since the ammo is so much cheaper.

So is the trade off of being able to practice much more with the .22 worth the decrease in stopping power for a few years until I can afford to practice shoot with a .38sp worth it?

For carrying, the .22 CCI hollow points seem to be pretty effective.

Edit – I could learn how to reload .38sp. Would that be cost effective?
