sadly my grandfather passed away on the 22nd, he died in his sleep. My grandfather was a veteran of WWII, he served in the navy. Upon his passing I found out he left me this handgun witch I did not even know existed all I knew about was his shotgun (witch went to my dad). The gun is a Smith and Wesson Model 10-5 In .38 special made around 1973. Now my dad knew about this gun and told me about its history, this gun was first purchased by a police department in the Houston area and was issued to a police officer. This officer was a friend of my grandfather, well time went by and the department updated there service revolver to a different model. The officer knew my grandfather was in the market for a hand gun and since the department was selling some of the old ones he informed my grandfather who then purchased the gun from the police department. After buying the gun my grandfather shot it every other weekend and you can tell by the wear it was well used but still in amazing condition. He use to keep this gun loaded on his night stand in case someone broke into his house. he trusted his live to this gun everyday, to keep him safe in his house. This gun is now my most prized firearm and I hope to one day pass it on to my kids.
