Gaming joke aside, I’ve become interested in the LeatherMan Tread. It comes in two options. Stainless or DLC. The DLC is $50 more, which I am willing to pay, but I have a few questions about the DLC. As I’ve absolutely no experience with DLC (unless it’s EA).
My biggest worry is, does DLC scratch easily. Now, you might be saying “Well, KaBar, it’s supposed to be a tool! Why does that matter?”. Well, if Stainless Steel hides the scratches better, I’d rather go with that. Having a black thing on your wrist with several noticeable scratches is a bit, well… odd.
But one of the reasons why I’m thinking DLC is to keep glare down. Here in Kentucky, it can get ridiculously sunny. So I’d rather not blind myself with stainless steel.
However, I am also going to wear this to school, so I don’t want too much attention drawn to it. So would the DLC look a bit too… “tacticool”? Or would the stainless stand out more?
I guess what I’m asking for is your opinions on the pros and cons of stainless and DLC.
Any help would be appreciated.
