    Hey guys,

If you havn’t heard yet, there was a siege in Sydney (Australia) last week where 3 people were killed. A man in his 50’s armed with a pump action shotgun took hostages in a Lindt cafe (pretty strange holding up a chocolate shop imo). The siege went into the night and at about 2am one of the hostages saw he was falling asleep, so he made a move for the gun which resulted in him getting blown away, cops stormed the place and shot the armed man, where another hostage was caught in the crossfire (its unconfirmed if the cops shot her or not, but if you see the video, it looks pretty bad for the cops).

Now in the aftermath people are questioning the gun laws, people are saying either:

Not strict enough guns laws, the guy who held up the place had a license for his shotgun, there is a lot of wierd stuff with this guy and a lot of questions to why he had a license, like he was let off on bail from accessory to murder (ex wife was stabbed and set a light in a stair well), plus sending letters to dead soldiers family (questions to why he wasnt on a terroist watch list).

and the other opinion is: less strict gun laws, meaning that if someone had a CCW they could’ve stopped the guy in the first place.

But then it goes the other way with this, if you lessen the laws, it could’ve been more serious (the guy could’ve had a semi-auto or auto weapon). Plus the whole everyone can have a gun, so then the shootings would go up scenario.

Then it got me thinking about the american gun laws and the media, you hear (even over here) about shootings in the states, BUT what you don’t hear about is people (with CCW) stopping people from killing, or in self defence.

    So my 2 questions are:

What are your opinions in relaxing or tightening the gun laws (im guessing there wont be many people against the idea of relaxing the laws)?

and what is the rate at which these attacks (as in self defence or coming to the rescue) are halted from people with CCW? Does the media even report on this? or do they only report on the killings to further their agenda (i feel like thats whats happening).
