I was gifted this. If you have a HDMI port on your TV and wireless in the house, you’ll all set. So far just movies in 1080p. (funny, my small 36″ LED is 720p, yet I shows 1080 movies.) Any hints or secrets about this?? thanks

Just watched all episodes of Orphan Black, Covert Affairs, a great 10 episode of Hugh Hefner (business wise), and watching a few K-Dramas. This is a great $40 investment.

I bought one of these solely for travel. Between my macbook and the firestick (mainly macbook lately), I can pretty much stream anything I want if I’m staying in a hotel. I keep the fire stick and a 3ft HDMI cable in my travel bag…nothing beats catching the game you want to see while on the road, or watching your own playlist of shows while staying in a hotel.

I love it, except for a couple issues. I watch a lot of You-tube and my son watches the Crunchyroll app. The latter I’m constantly having to reinstall to get it to see my account, so that’s annoying. No similar issue with my other devices. For You-tube Amazon did away with the app since they are “feuding” with Google. You can still watch it via the Silk browser, but settings like caption have to be set every time I start a new video. Also, it seems like it doesn’t allow you-tube to stream at its highest quality. Thinking of going back to Roku where I’ll still have access to Prime but with everything else as well.

I have an Amazon TV, but I hate it. I had wanted to get a Roku TV a couple years ago, but this one seemed like a better deal.

I don’t know how my Amazon TV compares to the Amazon Fire Stick, but my biggest gripe with the TV is that it just absolutely loses it if my home internet cuts out completely. It has taken it as long as three days to reconnect with the internet! Fortunately, I have a Roku 3 plugged into it, so I just used that.

The cheap Fire Stick and Amazon Prime has served me well for a couple years now.

If you get a fire stick, look at a great fellow in the US called troypoint.com.

I had my Fire stick for a while and really wasn’t using it to its full potential until I watched his tips n tricks
