I recently got a new cell phone (ZTE). Not long after I acquired a bluetooth device to use with the phone. Only to discover that the device is bluetooth 4.0 which the software in the phone doesn’t support. The phone can see it but won’t pair with it so obviously the hardware is capable. A bit of digging and I learned that Android 4.4 has BLE support but my phone is running on 4.2 and there’s no update available.
So I’m wondering, with all the tech gurus around here, does anyone know of a workaround for this? I’ve looked for drivers and whatnot in the app store but haven’t found anything. Do I just need to wait for the next firmware update (if there is one) or until I replace the phone again?
Any input is appreciated.
