I’m looking forward to getting my first Mosin out of jail tomorrow (I live in CA) and I can’t wait to get it all apart and cleaned up. With so many of these rifles out there and so many of y’all being into guns and marksmanship as well as EDC, I figure some of you have a Mosin. So, what is your impression of the rifle? I know there are two main schools of thought — the “it’s a piece of history, don’t mess with it” school, and the “it’s an inexpensive but capable rifle, sporterize it!” school. Although I haven’t done any substantial research on the value or rarity of my Mosin, I’ll like make some modifications that can be undone. I’d really like to turn my Mosin into a poorman’s hunting rifle. Also, post pics!
