Alas, I am still mourning the loss of my F-701. My 14-month old son pulled it out of my pocket and tossed it under the table at Pizza Hut and I forgot to pick it before we left. No Wally Worlds around here are selling the 701 anymore. So I started looking for a replacement.
After surfing the ‘net for a while, I found the Autopoint website. I had heard of Autopoint mechanical pencils, but never realized they made pens as well. I picked up the 4-way multi-action crosshatch and I like it a lot. Black, blue, and red inks plus .5mm pencil. The multi-function mechanism works well once you figure it out (lean the pen back with the mode you want facing you and depress the clickly) and the pen has a good heft to it. It sort of feels like the 701, but is a little heavier. The only real neagative I see is that the clickly stem is sort of long when the pen or pencil is not deployed. This is because you can pull the cap off the clicky to access an earaser underneath.
I’ll try to get a picture up after while when things slow down.
