Thanks to a very generous forum member, MatBlack, I now carry a Gerber LST magnum. I carried this model knife all through the late 1980’s, 1990’s, and into the early 2000’s. I love the Gerber LST, and the LST magnum for the light weight, rugged construction, and very good cutting. Gerber gets a bad rap often and often deserved with their Chinese imports. But the LST and Gator line is still made in Portland Oregon, and is still a very very good value pocket knife.
In the early 2000’s I got bit by the knife nut bug, and for a while it was like a temporary insanity that I was taken over by. But a few years ago, the knife obsession faded and I got back to reality. Now with a LST in my pocket and my Leatherman squirt on my keyring, I feel equipped to deal with the life’s little problems in American suburbia. Opening boxes, mail, plastic blister packages, and occasion food duty, a small, light, pocket knife is all I need. The Gerber LST and LST magnum fills the need great.
Thanks, Frank!
