This isn’t quite for EDC, but I have a Panasonic SC-AV50S camera (size about 4x2x0.75 inches) that I’d like to carry on occasion. Problem is the vertical Nite-Eyes clip case for my phone (Samsung SGH-x475 flip phone) and the horizontal sheath for my Leatherman Pulse. They take up enough belt real estate that anything for carrying the camera would also have to hold one or both of those. There will also be a spare battery for the camera, maybe another SD memory card. But those are small enough to warrant ignoring.

The Maxpedition H series of waistpacks looks promising. But the box sheath on the side of the H1 and H2 is about an inch longer than my Pulse. The phone case on the H3 is likewise too large for my phone.

There’s also the Maxpedition Rat wallet. The outside holder looks to be just about ideal for the camera, and the Pulse will certainly fit in the zipper section. There’s a bit more hassle in reaching it there, though.

My final thought is a pocket organizer like the CountyComm or Spec-Ops models. I wear cargo pants just about always. The downside here is that the quick availability of the camera gets cut.

Does anyone have experience carrying a multitool or cell phone in any of these who can comment? Or should I just get a small camera case at Mal-Wart that will hold the camera and phone together?

P.S. For those of you thinking “get a camera phone,” please understand that I already own all the electronics named. Buying a case will be much cheaper than a new phone right now.
