I have been researching casual wear. I wish to replace my aging inventory that I have worn over the past 15-20 years. I have made excellent choices as my garments have lasted that long. It they were still serviceable, I would still wear them. They are “tattered and torn” to the point that they are more costly to have repaired, AND, more importantly, they embarrass my friends and family.

One of my favorite garments is the hoodie. I have looked at many products and, as I have customarily done so, avoid the styles and colors that will render them looking odd in a few months. I tend to gravitate to classical styling that tend to remain benign so that they will look ordinary many years “down the road.” No large buttons, flap pockets, collars with their own zip codes, colors that are too bright, or have unpronounceable names such “chartreuse” or “periwinkle.” I also avoid any kind of popular fit such as too loose or too fitting. I specifically choose garments that will LAST for many years.

I discovered two hoodies introduced on EDCF: the American Giant and the Ten-Year hoodie. I purchased both. I sold the AG product because I don’t like the structured shoulder and slim fit. I am keeping the TY product because of the less-structured shoulder and the fact that I ordered a size up to accommodate my physique that is a product of years of bodybuilding.
Mini-rant: I particularly detest this trend of slim-fitting upper-body garments that decreases the width around the chest and shoulders.
While advertised as heavyweight (18 ozs/yard) garments, they are, at best, only medium weight.

I found two, truly heavyweight (24 ozs/yard) hoodies that have piqued my interest. I cannot find them locally to try them for fit. They are marketed as working/industrial garments:
    Arborwear
    Camber

Anyone here own and wear either or both that is willing to share their opinion?
