After a looong wait, I’ve finally got Quantico about two months ago and it’s by far the best urban EDC backpack I’ve ever owned. My quick observation is as follows:
- Superb construction as usual for Camelbak.
- Tons of pockets and compartments, probably more than most users actually need.
- Fleece lined sunglass pocket is big enough for Orkleys (finally).
- Organization compartment is similar to other Camelbak tactical packs like HAWG.
- Laptop and tablet pockets are fully padded and don’t touch the bottom of the pack.
- It’s very, very comfortable even when it’s heavy. IMO, it’s better than GR1. I can haul around my heavy MBP (plus all extra essential items) all day without much fatigue. Amazing.
- I love its square silhouette. And its construction is rigid enough to stand on the ground on its own. It won’t swells up like a turtle shell when fully loaded.
- Mine is Black Multicam color. I love this low-profile camouflage color pretty much, but I can’t find a usual “Multicam” tab anywhere. So I’m not sure whether the pack is made of authentic Crye Multicam material or Camelbak’s original material. Anyway the material is 500D Cordura so there won’t be any problem in term of durability.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask. BTW, RMK Outdoors did a fairly thorough review on its web site. So you’ll be able to find an answer to your question there.
