I am looking for some suggestions on cargo shorts. I have tried several brands, they all seem to lack a feature I want.
I would like a zipper long enough to be useful,a pocket deep enough to hold a J frame in a pocket holster without printing,a cargo pocket big enough to hold a Spec-Op wallet, made of a material thick enough to keep my folding knife from falling out.I would like the cut of the pattern to be loose enough in the thigh so I don’t have to fight the shorts getting into my truck or climbing up a steep bank.
Wrangler cargo’s,inseam to long, tight in the thigh.
Wrangler Hiker,J frame does not fit completely in the shallow pocket,J frame falls out when seated.
I just got some Propper’s,tight in the thigh, the front pocket is deep, but it is tight,J frame prints, the pocket seems to be more on the front of the thigh than some other brands. The cargo pocket is a tight fit for the Spec-Op wallet.
    Dickie’s cargo,tight in the thigh,tight pocket,rise too long.

So far the most comfortable shorts I have found is some Champion shorts at Target, the problem is the pockets,I can get the wallet in but it is very difficult to extract from the pocket.
