I just started carrying (got my permit a little while ago) and am a little confused about one car thing.
I’m using a leather OWB holster under a shirt for the time being. Apparently it takes literally forever to get in a kydex IWB holster from anywhere for some reason.
Anyway, the weirdest thing so far has been getting into my car. It has fairly deep bucket seats, and anywhere I seem to put the gun (from 9 o’clock to 6:30ish), the grip catches on the seat. Once I’m in the car, I can feel it but it’s comfortable.
Is this something that I’m just going to have to get used to, or is there a trick I’m missing? I can quarter-turn and get in like an old man….kinda. I can guide it in with my strong side hand, but that seems like it would telegraph its presence. But other than that, I’m out of ideas.
Any thoughts?
