What’s the cheapest player device/tablet that can display 960×540 video?

I’ve recently picked up a BlackBerry playbook for £65. They’re going dirt cheap at the moment since it was announced they won’t be getting BB0S 10.

They never had any success in my country: So they are not even available.

Ah, that’s a shame. It’s definitely the cheapest decent tablet I can think of. I guess your next best port of call is some kind of Android tablet. Perhaps a Nexus?

Thanks (around 200$ here), but I might add: Running Android. I want to use it for Coursera.

Well, among the name brand tablets, the HP Slate 7 (1024×600) can usually be found dirt cheap. Also – Lenovo IdeaTab (1024×600) are often found for < $150. There's probably all kinds of no-name tablets available cheap and it probably doesn't matter much which one you choose. Even though its not the cheapest choice, I personally would try to stretch my budget and get a Nexus 7 tablet.

Thanks for the HP Slate 7 recommendation. 129.-, 8GB.
What is so cool about the Nexus 7

Lotta bang for the buck with the nexus. It’s one of the nicer mini tablets and it’s also cheap(ish). I love my n7, I have the 2nd gen 32gb, not the 2013 version.

The Nexus 7 has a much, much better display, faster processor, more memory than the cheaper choices. All in all it will offer a much more pleasant user experience.

Also, I don’t own a Nexus myself, but have toyed with them a little. The best thing about them is it’s direct from Google, so you’re gonna get excellent update support down the line.

Is there a tablet with a matte display?
