KeymasterMy quest for a “pocketable” pocket organizer was how I ended up on this great forum!
Recently another member posed a question about pocket organizers and another member gratuitously posted pics of his code alpha walking wallet. As soon as I saw it I had a good feeing so I sourced one up from Ebay.
Initial impressions:
– Well made, more pliable material than maxped/vanquest. Possibly thinner material? Listed as 1000D cordura, possibly not treated with polyurethane like the others do?
– Great zipper action, only one pull like the maxped micro
– Exterior does not have any loops, handles, or any other pockets. Less bulk!
– Elastic loops on the left side sit higher up than maxped, should allow for better use of the top 3rd of that side.
– zipper pouch on left side has decent room inside
– came with a notepad and small skinny pen, bonus!I developed a loadout, the minimalist interior organization dictated the size and quantity of items, plus the zipper pocket requires the items to be shorter. I ended up with a vic classic, homemade 3 bit driver, aaa multimode flashlight, fischer space pen and a short micro usb cable. Zipper pouch has alka seltzer, advil, bandaids, lens cloth and a spare aaa. In the slip pocket on the left I have a tape card (masking and duct) and a handi wipe. Other side has the included notepad, a small stainless ruler and a thin battery backup.
When closed with this loadout the code alpha is about the same thickness as an empty maxped mini. It has about the same footprint as the maxped mini and the vanquest ppm slim.
Here are a few pics:
1st pic shows the code alpha on top of a maxped mini, just about the same size.
Here is a thickness comparison with an empty maxped mini:

Conclusions:
So far this is the best pocket carry clamshell style organizer I have tried. It is slightly larger than the maxped micro, but that does not translate to any issues in a std size pocket in shorts or slacks. It has enough organization inside to work for me, and the zipper pocket really works well for fak items. Lack of exterior loops, Velcro, or labels really helps to slim it down. I will do a picture comparison to the maxped micro, coming soon!
