I’m working in the wilds of Bolivia for a few days at the end of the month and because medical provision out there is fairly non-existant I’m putting together a comprehensive first aid kit. If a major injury should occur I’m about an hours drive over un-made up roads followed by 2 hours flying from anywhere with what I’d call a hospital. I’ve been out here before and my client promised that there would be locally available medical help if anything happened, we were lucky and nothing did, but I don’t want to rely on the locals.

The intention is to have two kits, a ‘booboo’ kit, small and on my person at all times for treating scrapes, cuts and the inevitable insect bites and a much larger kit that will be with the vehicle or my big pile of kit (and I mean pile, timelapse photography is not a lightweight profession) for treating and stabilising more serious injuries. 5 mins away from me at the most for the whole time I’m working.

At the moment I’m looking at this : http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/…act_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE as the on person kit, customised with my personal meds

And this : http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/…act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A193JUV0JKLVCT as the basis of the more substantial kit.

Cost is an issue, my boss doesn’t want me to blow all our margin for this trip on buying kit. Size and weight is also an issue, I have to fly with and then carry all this stuff around.

I will be adding on person:
    Sterile eye wash pod
    Dioralyte rehdration sachet
    After Bite (bite treatement pen)
    Imodium Instants
    Hand sanitiser spray

    In the main kit:
Germolene (antiseptic cream with local anasthetic)
    More eye wash pods
    more Dioralyte sachets
    Eurosplint (same as SAM splint)
    Burnshield Hydrogell burn spray
5m roll of micropore tape (can never have enough micropore)
Trauma shears (replace the stock scissors which are never very good)
Pocket CPR mask (full size collapsible with 02 inlet)

Is there anything I’m missing? I’ve included the splint because I’ll be climbing towers to adjust cameras and while I’ll be using a harness and working as safely as possible, :censored: happens.
