I’m new to the forum. Forgive me if this topic has arisen before.

As have many, I’ve been glued to the news for updates regarding yesterday’s tragic events in San Bernardino. Sniffing around on CNN, I came across on article about what one can do to increase chances of survival in an active shooter situation.

In the article, Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service agent, recommended a wooden door chock as a tool to consider. He stated that they “‘are invaluable. They geometrically make doors harder for an attacker to open.'”

Huh. I never thought of that. I don’t know that I’d want to put one into the bag that I EDC, a Mountainsmith Tour, but I’m sure as heck gonna get one to put next to the door of my classroom (I teach high school).

As I continue to mull over it, I may put one in my bag, too.

I’ve really enjoyed this forum, and I think this is my first original post. Just thought I’d solicit some thoughts/stir the pot.

    Cheers,

    Momo
