Searched and didn’t see a previous dedicated thread, though I only searched for a few minutes so if this is a repeat sorry!
I’m interested in getting a 2bbl derringer. Wondering if anyone on here owns or has owned one. Seems like from the little research I have done that Bond and American are some of the better ones. I have looked at and handled a Cobra Arms and was not impressed with its build quality.
I’m probably going to get a .45/410 but I also see a model on youtube made by American that is a .410 over .45-70. I don’t see this model on their website however. The .410/.45-70 interests me because of the novelty (firing a .45-70 out of a barrel barely longer than the cartridge…. yeah

… Though for what I’m going to use it for I think the double .45/.410 would be more practical. I don’t carry daily but this will be my CCW mainly for hunting/hiking.
One thing that concerns me about these derringers is the mechanics behind the way the hammer works. cycling from hitting one firing pin to another. I haven’t seen anyone complain though, so maybe that is not a justified worry.
Thoughts? Thanks!
