    All,

I have a pair of decommissioned bunker pants (Fire Fighter pants) that I have been cutting up and creating stuff for my EDC. First was a challenge coin case that was way over my skill set. Learned a lot but it’s not a very attractive piece. My skills are getting a bit better and my sights a bit lower. I wanted a cover for my Moleskine pocket journals as the notebooks get destroyed in my pocket before I get through all the pages. So here it is.

I started with a little measuring and some math. From there I created a paper template.

The template was a little off so I tweaked it and cut out the material. From there I sewed up the first one. I spent a couple hours trying to iron seems. Turns out the Nomex doesn’t take a a crease very well. Once I sewed it up it turned out a bit small, 1/8″ maybe. I need to pull the stitching and try it again. Here it is as it stands now, with a modified notebook inside:

Open with the notebook in it so you can see the innards.

Last one, set up for writing. Using my S30R Baton for a paper weight, as it were.

Thanks for the look. I have to admit, it’s unique but considering the Alldayruckoff waxed canvas notebook cover is $15, I spent way more than $15 worth of time on it. But, it’s mine. Need to tweak it and get a new notebook in there next.
