EDC Uses for a Tie

I work in a corporate setting that requires me to wear a tie. As I was putting one on this morning, I realized there may be some practical uses for edc purposes:

1. sling – easy to conceptualize. The tie is long and sturdy enough for use as a sling
2. if cut up – markers for a trail. The colors on my ties can get quite vibrant
3. fire material – it is organic material afterall, either as silk or cotton. silk is supposed to burn slowly, too.
4. self defense – don’t know how feasible this is without any martial arts training. I’ve seen enough kung fu movies to know that a piece of cloth can help in a knife fight.
