My wife does long-distance trail ride competitions, and she’s expressed interest in a wrist-mounted GPS. I’ve shopped a little, and the Garmin Foretrex 201 looks good.
What I’m wondering will a wristmount unit have the reception/durability of a handheld? They’re getting close in size/price, but if it won’t work wayyyy out in the woods then it won’t help her.
I’m thinking of this as a Christmas present, so anyone with end-use chime in. I’m a bit of a trog when it comes to personal electronics so things like tiny Dick Tracy GPSs frighten and confuse me ;D
