EU wants to tighten Firearm Legislations

I don’t know if this is the right part of the forum, or if topics like this are allowed. If so, I apologize in advance.

Since there are many europeans on this forum I wanted to share a political issue that is very dear to me:

I light of the terrorist attacks in Paris, the European Commission has made plans to tighten gun control in the EU. None of these plans would actually hinder future terrorists from obtaining black-market assault rifles, but will instead make life harder for legal gun owners in Europe: Sport Shooters, Hunters, Collectors.

Among other things, the planned legislation includes:

• Stricter rules to ban certain semi-automatic firearms, which will not, under any circumstance, be allowed to be held by private persons, even if they have been permanently deactivated;
• Tighter rules on the online acquisition of firearms, to avoid the acquisition of firearms, key parts or ammunition through the Internet;
• Stricter conditions for the circulation of deactivated firearms;
• Stricter conditions for collectors to limit the risk of sale to criminals.

There is a petition against the new legislation: “EU : You cannot stop terrorism by restricting legal gun ownership.” on change.org

You can also write to your representatives on the European Commission, I am already planning to do so.
