been considering one for my sbr and pistol to have a longer rail only reason I don’t want to is to keep with the mostly seekins parts
Finally got a moment to breathe. Here is my evil-FDE rifle. I’ve been slammed with work and school, so I hope to go to the range Saturday. I wish I had some of the mad photo taking skills I’ve seen on here. Crappy phone pics will have to suffice.
It’s a Plumcrazy … same thing before they changed. It also has a full weight barrel under the handguard (it’s like a frickin inch) so it’s not as light as it could be but even with the overly heavy optic it is about 8 pounds empty. 7 pounds without the optic. My brother has a similar gun with a pencil barrel that is just over 6 pounds. I don’t have cool scales to get an accurate weight though … just some luggage scale thing. I would like to have all the cool guy :censored: but a 10 pound .223 rifle just doesn’t make sense to me. I wish there was a 1-4x optic that weighed 8 or 10 ounces mounted ….. that I could actually afford and didn’t suck. I walked by 4 of these lowers at a gun show a couple years ago and today I wish I had bought at least 2 of them cause I’d really like to do a pinned 14.5 pencil barrel … I believe that is as light as an AR could possibly be and I think I could do it for about $600.
Im thinking of doing a 14.5 P&W for my next project.
Might do an M4A1 clone, just for fun.
Probably going to go with palmetto state armory again, as Im really impressed with the quality, esp for the cost.This lower is a given though, ordering it tonight –

They basically started from a clean slate with the polymer and instead of making it look awesome like the lower in your picture, they made it ugly. Kills me. I busted out my craptastic luggage hook thing and my gun without the optic and empty registered 6.8 lbs.
Thats not bad for a full profile 16″ barrel.
That lower is billet alu though, I’ll take the little extra weight for the confidence I get from that.
You could send the barrel out to adco and get then I lighten it I need to do that with my fiancés barrel on hers!
I’ve been thinking I need to get on ar15.com and post a wtt for a troy rail for my seekins/spike bar rail I want something a little longer to partially cover my noveske kx3How do you like your fixed sights and what kind are they ? I’ve been considering them for my shortie since I started building it but I got magpuls to hold me over
