KeymasterI’ve found this to be true for me, as well. With lights like these, I’ve resorted to changing my grip (temorarily), so that I can activate the switch with my index finger. This used to happen to me all the time, with my old Streamlight Stylus Pro, since the tail cap was so stiff.

Keymasteruse the Energizer Lithium batteries, because I read that they add significant runtime. That said I’ve never really tested them to confirm. I think the E05 runtimes are fine as long as you have a ready source of batteries. I have a couple of E05′ that I keep on lanyards (one in the bedroom, and another in my basement), and a third on my keychain. The E05 is a great light for around the house, and on the keychain. If I were out of batteries, or not able to get some easily, I’d opt for the E01. Otherwise the E05 is my “go to” light for daily uses.
For daily carry outside of the home, I carry an E15 in my pocket, but it rarely gets used, because the E05 on my keychain meets my needs for everything except when I might want a very bright light with a little throw.
My E01′ are scattered around the house for emergency use, but don’t see much use. My E05 in contrast gets used daily by me, and often my other members of my family. The diffuser makes it a nice light for doing most anything from looking at a kids tonsils, or a broken wire on their dental braces, to navigating a dark house, or finding a keyhole when the porch light isn’t on.

KeymasterThis thread is making me want to start reusing my EO5. My well worn EO5 before and after painting shots. I’m not sure how the paint will hold up, if not I’ll just strip it back.

KeymasterI use rechargeable NiMH for my LD01 because i use it daily. (Used to go through an alkaline about every 3 weeks)
Feel better now that im reusing my batteries now.Back on topic though, my partner uses her e05 rarely so i changed out the alkaline for a lithium.
Pros are: lighter, will run longer and main reason is if she doesnt use it for years it wont leakSeptember 24, 2025 at 9:03 am #22225admin
KeymasterHaven’t gotten my E05 in the mail yet but should any day now. I watched a review online and saw that the instruction manual for the E05 warned against using lithium batteries. This is confusing because most people say that this is all they use. Can anyone comment on this?

KeymasterI’m guessing they mean lithium ion rechargeables?
