As an average JOE what “first aid” training should a person get? Being former airborne infantry and in a small unit in Italy we were blessed with medics that actually trained us more than the average soldier.
I was able to help in the combat medic’s course while in Italy, so I’m trained in some areas, but I am constantly wondering what constitutes “first aid” training? I’ve consulted our local VA PA about various things, we have gone over stitches (I’ve done them many years ago when a fellow soldier got cut on razor wire during a football game). Junk like that. So what should a “trained” individual have in his vita?
TIA
ETA: I downloaded the US Mil first aid manual dated 2002, I haven’t forgotten much. Now what else should a person know? TIA
