Fisher v. Cross: Warranty

Both Fisher and Cross advertise a Lifetime Warranty*. So I decided to clean out the desk drawer and take both companies at their word; here is what I experienced:

Fisher Space Pen
“Just mail your pen insured with your contact information”. Received a replacement within three weeks.

Cross
“Just mail your pen insured with your contact information along with $10 (check or credit card) for the “processing fee”.

The Fisher Space Pen Lifetime Warranty made me a Lifetime Customer.

The Cross Lifetime Warranty made me a Fisher Space Pen Lifetime Customer.

The Cross is back in the junk drawer.
