I always carry my 3DS XL/Vita (like you), a kindle, and 6 dice to entertain myself. Sometimes I bring a deck of cards or two when visiting other people (for drinking games with friends, just regular fun with relatives, or a quick game of speed with my girlfriend.) But I also always have my Tom Bihn Synapse 19 with me so it’s not a burden.

Edit* Oh I forgot to mention my phone, which also has games of course.
Gotta rack up them streetpasses 🙂

I had a GBA/GBC emulator on my iPhone 6+ but then it seems like all the rom sites got shut down… no more pokemon at work for me….

I find most phone games are too shallow to hold my attention for long. Or I don’t like the control scheme. I bought a Vita, but between the batter life, the insistence of the games to use gimmicky controls and the horrible control support for PSOne games I’ve not played it much. I’ve kicked around the idea of getting a DS, but I don’t really know anyone that has one and I’m not sure I want to potentially waste more money like with the Vita.

I play my DS considerably more than my Vita. With games like Ocarina of Time, Smash Bros, and Pokemon, it’s hard for the Vita to compete.

    Yup, I’m a gamer.

    iPhone: Carcassonne mostly
iPad: Freecell, Letterpress or Sudoku / usually one of them for a month or two then rotate on

Have tried a few wargames on iPad: AcePatrol, PanzerCorps but depth of play falls short against full-size computer

I prefer analog social games with dice and cards, usually with a little $$ thrown in to spice it up. I also like using electronic devices as portable game boards (chess/backgammon), and even as portable pool/ping pong tables… but I generally have to be playing another person (not online).

I’m another to rely on my iphone. I usually stick to simple games like solitaire, chess etc. Something that is easy to pick and put down.

Nintendo DS here. It’s a great system. Thinking of making my old Gameboy my EDC one day, that will make for some good retro gaming times!

As a kid I played allot on my megaduck (gameboy clone, even most games on it were clones) and i also remember a sega gamegear. That thing needed a portable diesel generator, it took 6 AA batteries and was empty in a few hours.
Then a long time after I got a Nintendo DS, most played was pokemon and castlevania. But i don’t use it anymore for years now. I actually feel bad for ever buying it.
I have chess and jetpack joyride on my phone, but in my opinion most phone games are pure :censored: though. Also i don’t like using battery time for games on my phone.
And really, i’m ok without games on the road. Plenty to see in the bus or train or i just take something to read with me.

Now consoles and pc gaming, thats a different story. I’ve seen/played every generation since the eighties 8bit era :smug:.

Edit: i forgot that i also have a surface pro tablet that i use to play heroes of the storm or quake on it

I suck at chess against the computer. I need to read my dads chess books. And I mainly play Pokemon. My roommate thinks I’m crazy, but I judge him for playing animal crossing so we’re even lol

++ on the Sega Game Gear! I could get through Mortal Kombat just before it died. Only reason it couldn’t unseat the Game boy was that batt life. Faster processor, better graphics, backlit screen, color… But that battery life was akin to those mini RC CHOPPERS THEY SELL at the mall. Lol.
