Not too long ago I decided that I needed a couple of days away. I work a 6 day work week and the last time I took off was December 2012, so let’s call it a mental health break. Now, I’m a Floridian by nature, temporarily transposed to SW PA and, at the time, it was still warm. Last night I almost decided to take another furlough and realized that, not only was I out of clean underwear, but that I don’t have a great deal of experience packing for a non-business trip in colder weather.
So let’s say you’ve got the clothes on your back plus up to one full change of outerwear in a bag with everything else (to be clearer: 3 pairs of boxers won’t count against the limit, 3 pairs of pants is too many). This isn’t a bug-out or jump or go bag; like the title says it’s more a get out of town free card. It isn’t always packed and you can change from what you are wearing when you first walk through the door to gather everything. You aren’t in a hurry, but don’t want to waste time, so you’ve made a checklist. What is on it?
