KeymasterGot a brand new blue label Glock 19 Gen 4 for my birthday, and I finally took it to the range today. Went through three magazines and everything was fine. Halfway through the fourth magazine, the gun failed to fire and jammed. It jammed with the slide in the forward position and the trigger pulled all the way back. I immediately released the magazine. The slide would not budge. Period, at all, no matter how much strength used. The trigger would also not move from it’s fully depressed state. I happened to be at the range alone that day so I asked the employee at the range to take a look at it since I had no idea what else to try after fiddling with it for a few minutes. He tried every which way to get the slide to budge. Finally after pushing on it with his entire weight with the gun against a table several, several times he got it so the slide moves the tiniest amount. Then after he tried hammering the slide, for some reason the trigger released back to the forward position. Neither one of us felt comfortable trying to pull the trigger to see what happened. Bullet is still lodged in there somewhere. Slide still won’t move except the most minuscule amount. I tried calling Glock, but they are closed now. I’ll call them in the morning to see if they have a gunsmith in my area that they prefer I take it to to get the bullet removed somehow because obviously I can’t ship them a loaded gun. Winchester 9mm 115 grain bullets were used, just like the ones I use for target shooting on all of my 9mms. I’m shocked this happened with a brand new Glock. One of the main reasons I bought a Glock is because they have the best reputation for reliability and my one other Glock (30S model 45acp) has never had a FTF. All of my friends with Glocks that I’ve asked stated they’ve never heard of something like that happening. The guy at the range said he’s never seen a gun jam like that with the slide not budging at all.
Has anybody ever had this problem with a gun before? If so, what was the fix? Or has anybody ever dealt with Glock’s customer service with a problem regarding a brand new gun?
Never had a gun jam like this before so I’m at a loss right now…
