I have 2 ham HTs, a Kenwood and Etekcity/Baofeng both 2m/440. I bought a Midland 75-822 at a flea market with the car adapter but no battery pack or AA adapter to use it outside the car.
If I had a charger and pack I would like to have the Midland for emergencies. The only other CB handheld I have is old and monstrous, taking I think 12xAAs!
I basically want a cheap handheld that is strictly for CB transcieving. So I either need to scare up some accessories for the Midland(which I’ve been having a hard time doing) or get a new radio that takes something reasonable like 4xAA.
FRS/GMRS/Ham do not belong in this discussion, since I have multiple ham radios and multiple FRS handhelds.
Do you guys have, or even want, your bases covered with a CB?
