Hey folks, I used to do a lot of hiking, both on trail and in the back country. Though I get out there every now and again, life has been busy the past few years and I haven’t gotten out as much as I’d like so I’m looking to get back out there.
I use a Garmin Etrex Legend HCX as my go to GPS and I’m happy with it but it’s starting to show it’s age so I’m looking for something new. I’m looking for something with a bigger screen but still comes in a small/light package – something that can easily fit into a front pocket of a pair of shorts. Hopefully something with some cool new functions as well (PLB capabilities perhaps?). It has to be waterproof, be able to take some knocking around and have a strong antenna. Finally, it’s got to have great battery life. If it has an internal rechargeable battery, it has to be able to accept AA or AAA as well. Thoughts?
