KeymasterHello All,
I would like your opinion on the three bags/attaches/briefcases I have narrowed my choices down to – the Vanquest Envoy 3.0 (available in May 2016), the Maxpedition Operator Tactical Attaché, and the Condor Metropolis. I will be using it on an ED basis to travel among my home, office, and a more remote office all by car.
I am doing away with an old classical hard-sided attaché case. It really wasn’t designed to hold a reference book or two, a tablet, water bottle, etc. I have an Osprey Astro messenger bag that I use when traveling on a plane as a carry-on since I can overstuff it and still jam it under the seat in front of me. My electronics have never suffered from using it this manner. I like all the organizational pockets, the side water bottle pockets, and most importantly, access to the contents without having to lift the flap. When I am in close quarters, lifting the flap can be a real pain.
Since I like the Astro so much, I figured that I would get a better-looking messenger to replace my ED briefcase but I found right away that one of the features I really want, the ability to access the inside without opening the flap, reduces the choices really quickly. The more I looked around, the more I saw that perhaps I ought to go with something more like a briefcase. Maybe not.
I’m not worried with something looking too tactical. In fact, I might actually prefer it. I am not TOO concerned with the price. I believe in “buy once, cry once” but I am not interested in paying an exorbitant amount. You can get an idea of my price range from my three choices.
Thanks! -
