So I’ve been looking at G-Shocks and thinking about getting one for a long time. I think I’m finally ready to pull the trigger on one. After doing some research, it seems the Gulfman might be the best suit for me as supposedly it’s one of the smaller ones (I have a small wrist) and the features will work nicely since I live on the gulf coast. Now, here comes the rub. My wishlist includes Solar + Atomic. The GW-9110-1JF model seems to be exactly what I want. Gulfman that is solar and atomic, and it is aesthetically pleasing to me. However, apparently that model is only available in Japan. That obviously drives up the cost considerably. More importantly, I want to know whether the watch will have any quarks due to being made for Japan, or will it be like American models? For example, will “Timer” being written in English or in Japanese? In every picture I’ve seen the words on the buttons are written in English but I want to know for certain if there will be any quarks before I possibly drop that much money on a watch. Also, am I missing anything; is the same watch available in an American version and I just haven’t seen it?
