Howdy folks,
So, I’m heading off to college in the fall.
I have most of my gear squared away (finally!), but I’m still pretty lacking in the FAK department.
Since I know rule #1 is only carry what you can use. I’m an Eagle Scout, so I do have most basic first aid training, and I plan on taking some red cross classes through my college ASAP. Seeing as both my parents are former EMTs that have kept up their certifications, I’ve learned quite a bit of stuff along the way as well.
So, for a container I have an Eagle creek quarter cube.About 7x4x2 inches. I kind of do want to stick with this container because it fits perfectly in a front pocket in my pack.
I honestly don’t know that much about what to carry.
I mean, besides the obvious band aids, antibiotic ointment, OTC meds, etc.
Should I carry some basic trauma gear? I.E., izzy bandage, quick clot (or not, I read that thread!)?
And, most of all, is there a good list to work off of with specific recommendations for a kit this size?
Thank you very much guys!
